Excellent post.
In all honesty, most of us probably would have held those very same beliefs (Orthodox teaching) ourselves at one stage in our lives!
I think the wisest things you can do with such people, or anyone, is put down a moral marker and to live by example.
That helps people find a higher truth through their own reasoning.
