Take the best of the (recent) best diets - or ways of eating, like the keto diet and the intermittent fasting. Look up "Butter Bob" on youtube, he's got lots of information about high fat/low carb dieting and the effect it all has on your insulin. I forget if you said you were diabetic but if you're not, you're on the road. I discovered I was diabetic several years ago. Wishing you well.
