Not understanding this (intrinsic awareness), even Panditas can fall into error.

The writer just stated one does not need teachers or teachings, just our own experience. The writer states, if you don't know the explanation, the teachings about it, you can still establish yourself in the experience of it. The writer then points this out further, stating everyone can taste sugar without needing anyone to explain it to us.The writer calls this intrinsic awareness, intrinsic means naturally a part of us. We have the qualities necessary for liberation naturally within us and the means to achieve such things. The writer then points out, Panditas, or teachers/priests/religious authorities, fall into error thinking they are the source of this stuff.

I would agree with all of this. Anyone can observe themselves, think and reason, and learn to be more at peace within and without. Lot's of people have discovered this stuff for themselves by themselves.
