No, life is nothing like a play. It isn't all planned down to the finest movement. It is a life full of free will, where we can change our mind and change direction at any moment.
But having free will does not mean that we can choose when to die - quite the opposite, in fact. If we knew when we were going to die, it would directly influence our actions and we would not be acting with complete freedom.
I hope that I have explained things clearly - but it's a difficult topic.
