Reincarnation, according to Hinduism, is a series of changes through which an individual passes.

Hinduism believes in the rebirth and reincarnation of souls. The souls are immortal and imperishable. Each Life experience on earth and each incarnation of soul offers the jiva an opportunity to learn and overcome its inconsistencies and complete its karma.

I agree, but it is not only Hinduism, Buddhist also believe in reincarnation, and in the past many other religions openly embraced reincarnation, but their church squished it. The Jewish, or Hebrew, Kabbalah also talks about reincarnation. I believe in reincarnation because it is evident that nature recycles everything and we humans are a part of nature. So, as you have said, we have to transcend human conditioning, or delusion, to be liberated from the wheel of birth and death. People come back because they have unfinished business; karma if you will, and the whole process of reincarnation deals with universal balance which is homeostatic; just like we have homeostasis within our own physical body. Most people do not remember reincarnation for the same reasons they do not remember being a spiritual being within a physical body, or remember that the source of their being is within them. Most do not remember that the drop is in the ocean and the ocean is also in the drop.
