From what I learned so far, you met because it is time. Your TF connection is supposed to help you look inward. They're your mirror. As long as you both acknowledge you have growing to do, then you can continue to move forward. I don't suggest trying to force anything. Don't try to help him heal. Heal yourself, so he can focus on healing himself, then you can be on the same level and reunite when you're both mature.
