I have heard of the peppermint oil solution too. I haven't used it either but I would. I liked the electronic suggestion.
I have spiders but they don't bother me that much and sometimes I let them build their webs as long as they stay in their area. They catch flies and I like spiders in small quantities.
I hate the ones that get in the bathtub. I cannot ignore them. I used to send them for a swim but I feel guilty. I use my broom to scoop them up and then I put them outside. I use the catch and release method and would never kill a spider on purpose except when I assume they can swim.
