I don't do a card for each month. I made a spread with several positions for 1 card only, using different decks, chosen intuitively.
There's a position like "what I need to leave behind from 2019" and another on what that will bring me in 2020.
A position on love, health, money etc.
Of course the year card and what is hindering that.
The spread is laid out in an arch as to span the new year. Only the year card and what's blocking it are in the top middle of that arch.
