Yes, but evolutionarily-speaking, there had to be a good reason why that trait continued. If it were a random defect, it would be corrected in subsequent generations. If it were a defect that made someone "less attractive" as a mate, it would eventually discontinue.

The hypothesis is that it makes people slightly more attractive, more likely to get mates, succeed.

I'm not all about evolution, but this one seemed to make sense to me. People with dimples are seen as more attractive generally.
