I want to affirm positive, empowering beliefs, but I have some very reactive, fear based attitudes that come up when things aren't going well.

For example, I've been having problems with my car for 2 years, and stuff just keeps happening. I don't want to go through the hassle of buying an new one, and can't afford the monthly payment (another disempowering affirmation?), and so I'm using the car as an experiment in affirmations. The thing is, how do change my beliefs surrounding the reliability of my car when deep down I believe it will keep breaking down or costing me money in repairs because that is what has been happening for so long? It really has been one problem to the next, with a new one popping up as soon as I fix the last one.

It is grinding on my soul to keep struggling with such silly things, and I want to figure out how to truly change my attitudes when everything points toward more problems, more struggles.

Any tips or advice is greatly appreciated!

The affirmation may be as simple as learning to repair the vehicle. Not too complicated a deal there. The affirmation may include getting a job that allows you to repair the car, working some OT, making friends with someone who knows about repairing one, but I'd get another one.

In affirming you have to see what you want to do, you can't change what is (reality/physical laws) with the mind but you can direct the mind to accomplish that affirmation. Of course jmo, it works for me.

I once had a problem with my car and found a person who actually enjoyed working on cars. They repaired my vehicle for almost nothing at all. Still it wasn't free. It may not be. I found this person by asking some "trusted" friends. If I hadn't networked it would have not have happened.

But I loved what you said about your car and had the biggest smile about the attitude you have of your car, as I connect to mine as well. It has many of my qualities. Like you, I personalize with my car(s) a great deal. But I don't think your mind will fix or maintain our even break the car directly or put fuel in it majickly. The real reality is you do so by manifesting the affirmation you want.
