I wanted to become a computer systems engineer. I became a computer systems engineer. About, oh, 12 years later I became disabled. Now all the computer work I do is on my own laptop. One life ended along with pretty much everything else I had until then. Now I'm spending the rest of this lifetime on other things. Hopefully some of those other things will have some meaning to them, but I don't think any of it will qualify as aspirations.
