I can definitely understand that perspective, I've often wondered if it was the nature of the connection that made it so hard to get over the loss of the person, or if it was just a reflection of what a dysfunctional, broken mess of a person I was. In my own case I'm still not completely sure, maybe it'll all become clear once I've done enough inner work.
