With this damned pandemic it's not a good time for sitting close to a stranger for any reading including mediumship.
Online or telephone - remember phones? - are safe and can work well with an experienced practitioner. I don't know where you live but there are ways to find someone suitable.
Whoever offers a service it's important to know what service is on offer. Psychic reading isn't contact with spirit communicators hence a 'psychic medium' isn't the same as an evidential or 'spiritual medium'.
