I'm an OBE Explorer.
When I do an OBE, I translate my consciousness/awareness, from my physical human body into my spiritual body into the next less dense dimension closest to the physical.
Therefore a" ghost" is a consciousness who is existing in the next dimension of the physical.
Reality is a complex multi-dimensional and multi-verse espectrum. Where Consciousness is the base of it all. Form is a fake product of consciousness.
I've been a ghost, and everybody who reads this is a ghost too.
When you do an OBE is completely impossible that you can contact physical beings, they can't notice you. I know that from experience, and you can test that too if you do an OBE.
So, I can assume that the fear of a consciousness CREATES a fearful "holographic from", but it's fake.
That hologram has no consciousness behind it.
All forms are in their core empty abstract information, but the mind of a consciousness transforms that abstract infromation into a proper form.
