It's because I have seen numerous youtube vids of some folks that have gone very far out with the world ending stuff and they often use Revelation! I think that speaks to it's power/greatness as an apocalyptic work. But...it takes some strong kind of bedrock i think to be able to handle Revelation and survive the book, which it tells you only a few will do! I don't think God or Jesus is like the portrayal in the book it just uses certain imagery to describe crazy times
