Nice words, BlueSky, but I find some of it just confusing a little bit.
Some I agree. All religions are based on words and text and scriptures.
And I'm not sure you're dumping Buddhism into that - a religion, which it isn't
(I feel), but what else to call it, right. I get that, but don't agree that it is strictly
a religion.

You make it seem and sound easy to explain away what's in contention here.
I'm sure the op can figure out a thing or two, without further arguments.
