When spiders approach me, they usually indicate that Hecate wants my attention. I keep wishing She would use a different familiar, because spiders freak me out, but apparently there is something for me to learn from Spider.

You may try looking at various Crone goddesses (though of course all goddesses are all three - Maiden, Mother, and Crone).
