Amazing Love Display - Lion to man

It's fairly well known but, for those who haven't seen this tremendously affectionate reunion, be prepared to be moved.....

It entails 2 boys who were given a lion cub, called Christian, raised it and then returned it to the wild. 35 years later....they went to see if they could find Christian - here is the result. The reunion is right at the start of this youtube clip - it then goes on to tell the history/lead up to that moment (45 mins).

I saw the video a year or so ago and it was amazing. I'm a cat person (any kind really -- big or small). I've always envied folks who actually get to play with lions and tigers. But those two guys really had a special experience with Christian. The lion's affection for those two really comes thru in the video.

Aw, I have seen Christian!!! Absolutely admirable, though very risky. I don't know if it will work all the time.

Amy, anything which raises awareness of the spirituality of animals is welcome! Yes the video is truly amazing and calls into question all those who regard "wild" animals as brutes with no feelings except for their own offspring.

However, the noble Knight of Albion recently posted the same video on this forum (in the animals sub-section of "Nature"): http://www.spiritualforums.com/vb/sh...ad.php?t=37240

Oh, obviously I didn't see this. I have tried to use the search facility sometimes, to see if I am repeating a thread that already might have started, but find it does not operate well for this purpose. Admittedly, I didn't see that the nature section had a subsection for animals - oh well, I know now.

I'm sure you'll agree that the lion, Christian, was not a typical wild animal i.e. having been raised by humans. The term "brutes" I've not heard applied to wild animals - it is inherent in the nature of wild animals to be predatory.

I'm sure you don't mind that such an immensely wonderful display of love is repeated here by me (unintentionally)....the way I see it, the more that see it, the better. It fills the soul.

Absolutely! BTW this brings to mind the story of Androcles and the lion. Makes the story quite believable!
