Living in the moment
 
I think living in the moment can make you more spiritual. By living in the moment I mean not paying attention to the noises/sounds and other senses your brain generates and giving your attention to the sounds and noises you're actually sensing from the outside.
Since I've started doing this, my dreams are more as if I were actually experiencing them, but I still haven't lucid dreamed intentionally yet. I think this is what they called "all day awareness", but the explanations I read of it weren't clear enough to understand it.
The feeling of doing this reminds me of a study I read of when Buddhists vs normal people were eating an apple, for the Buddhists the feeling of biting into the apple for the first time lasted for the whole time they ate the apple, so it was as if they were always experiencing the apple for the first time.

The well known book 'The Power of Now' is supposed to help,someone gave me a copy years back ,kept trying to read it but couldn't get into it,gave it the charity shop a few weeks back.

I propose an alternative approach... instead to "live in the moment", in the "now", be the now, be the moment, quite a radical shift but very natural because consciousness is always now.

Literally there's no other time, just this now, when you are drawn into the past, you are doing it in the now, when you are peeking at the future, you are doing it in the now, there's only now. And "now" and consciousness are one and the same, "you are the now".

I never seem to learn!eg when trying to get to sleep, it's best to surrender to the moment watching the images of ones thoughts,I never do it though,I lie there thinking all sorts until I am passed tire,eventually it dawns on me how to get to sleep,just surrender!I need to put a sign up to save the rigmarole every night.

Go to sleep but put your alarm to ring about 3-4 hours later, wake up and let yourself fall asleep again but now have the intent to leave the body, this will get you an out of body experience ( just keep trying ), lucid dreams are pale in comparison with an out of body experience.

When I have a lucid dream I notice right away and decide to wake up for I know it's not the real deal.

Leaving the body from a meditative state it's difficult, I made it but it's very difficult and can be scary.

I have been aware of being out of body many times,even did an experiment that proved it to myself(explained on SF somewhere and updated)It's the getting to sleep as sleep is needed by the body,I don't bother too much about projecting these days(proper awake in the subtle physical projections are fairly mundane imo perhaps the connection of the astral to the gross physical that may be experiencing lucidity?the sense faculties of the actual astral I should think are limited unless maybe some special senses can be developed,the astral ear or eye will contain minute amounts of material)
