My brass made Isis pendulums don't move at all.
 

I'm new to dowsing. I recently bought two beautiful pendulums at 150$. One is small and the other one is large. They are brass made and if I'm not mistaken, they are the most sought after pendulum in the market today. Anyway, it's been over a month since I have started practicing, but no luck so far. Both of them don't even move. They only time they move is when I hold them over a hand and they will swing in circle. Help?

This can be quite common. Try something simple asking "will you work with me?" see if you get motion there. If you do get movement then as them to show you "which way is yes" which way is no".

There are times when they are just not for you, I have one that I bought for my husband that will not work for him at all. It charged to my energy when I purchased it.

Was wondering if you ever got them to work...I use copper "L" shaped rods and only tried using a pendulum once. (No luck.)

Perhaps if pendulum doesn't work for you, "L" rods may...

Dowsing works on a state of mind. In this case being complete release and stopping of mental thought, a sort of releasing so that one can become an antenna of information which is then translated through the object one is using to dowse with.

A great way to be ready to move into dowsing is to meditate daily, with the object of meditation to be the stopping of thoughts, until the mind becomes still. When it is still outside information can come in because one has 'turned off the engine and can now hear the quieter things' to use a metaphor.
Our minds are noisy and create such a noise we can't perceive much of the greater reality around us and available to us. Learning to quiet the mind is Step 1 in any esoterical pursuit - Divination included.

When I was very young we used a needle on a long thread. Try something lighter to see if it works better for you.

Here Is what I was taught in regards to working with a pendulum.. "Close you eyes... ask for guidance from the Universe with love and light, working with your Highest Vibration ....

Begin by preparing yourself
Use these words it may help

Then focus and ask for the pendulum to move back and forwards like nodding yes ... and hold it over the chart ... then ask the pendulum to move left to right Side to side like nodding no ... holding it over the chart ...
