It is with a heavy heart that I report the news that the SF backup from September 2010 has been lost by our former hosting company, easyspace.com

We had been hoping that the backup would be retrievable, and that we could extract relevant data from it, but now it is confirmed that we no longer have access to this backup.

I am so sorry to have to bring such sad news to the forums, but......the good news is that we are still here, rebuilding slowly but surely, and that all the love and support we had with the old forum structure still exists, and carries over to our "new" site~~~~I appreciate the outpouring of support that you all have given to the staff. They have certainly been working so diligently and faithfully to get SF back on its feet.

I would like to assure all members that we do have a new hosting company now, one that provides regular backups and 24/7 support service. I don't think we will have to face another devestating loss like this again.

Such a shame .... the positive to come out of this, is that the forum is still here and thriving.

I have only been a member here for a few short months, but I have gained enormously from the experience.

This is such a warm caring place, and I am so glad I became a part of it. The lost posts, memories and experiences that everyone shared, were a testament to Matt and his vision.

Since we re-started, the enthusiasm is still there to see on the site .... the forum soon came back to life, and seeing the member count rising steadily daily, as people re-register, pick up and carry on, is a wonderful thing to see.

I just wanted to say - When this site was down, I realized how truly important it is to me and how amazing it is.. Thanks so much for everyone that makes this site possible.

So happy to see all these responses and feel the support and hearty good cheer of everyone, despite this heavy blow. I can see Matt smiling gently now........

Hmmm... as far as I know most crashed disks are fixable when it comes to retrieving corrupt data. There are a lot of specialised companies out there that are extremely good at what they are doing to get most of the things back on instances at such... no matter what happend to them.

Oh well.

The forum may have crashed but I feel its presence is glowing more now than ever.

Glad the site is back I really thought you was gone for good which quite upset me cos I love coming on here.
