Mastery of The Mind

Let the gurus tell us so we chase their rainbows upon desire for fabled gold.

Otherwize...

Be the master of your own mind.

Once you lose the mind, it is mastered.

I see your point, but their are many who have lost their minds who are in institutions, and their minds are not mastered.

Disidentifying with the mind would be mastery. The mind works, but one has recognized that they are not the mind.

No, they have not lost their mind in the sense that I am talking about. They have become so totally identified with the mind that they believe that it is now their reality. Mental illness is simply a complete ego-trip that takes over your entire reality.

You have it right with the second sentence, that is what I was pointing to :)

All depends on the method you choose to master it......take a whip & you'll spend the rest of your days trying to beat it into submission

Well said, Not Human

The mind is its own living creature. It wants to be used and stimulated, it seeks to understand, it hungers and it dreams. A well trained mind is a valuable tool, but like any other animal, lack of attention means it develops its own willful habits and vices. Abuse makes it wild and vicious. As with any animal, the Heart is the tool to tame the wild mind .

As far as I know, a true so called guru, points you to your own inner rainbow, most people think that they are the master of their own minds, but are they really ?.

SunnyHaze 05-08-2011 06:14 AM

is that possible to master your mind ?
