Really good weekly planning spread
 

I thought I'd put up this spread in case anyone wants to give it a whirl. I tried it out and what impressed me with this particular spread, is that it doesn't predict what's going to happen during the week, it indicates things you should do, be aware of etc, this week.

Although I only did this spread today (Tuesday in Aus), it was astounding how relevant each card was to different areas of my life. And of course because the spread doesn't predict each day, it really doesn't matter if you do the spread in the middle of the week.

After looking at the cards, I started asking myself "how or why" and then thought, well, why not ask the Tarot? So rather than leave it there, I enhanced the spread by asking "how or why" and laid a card underneath the original cards. This was absolutely amazingly helpful and insightful.

You lay the cards in a single row from 1-7 and if you want to delve more deeply, continue laying the cards below for 8-14 for additional insight into "how or why".

The positions are thus:

1. Take a closer look at this
2. Don't worry so much about this
3. Beware of this danger
4. Hold tight to this
5. Learn to appreciate this
6. Stop pursuing this
7. Seek this

As an example, for "stop pursuing this" I drew 5 of Cups. For "how or why" I drew Ace of Pentacles reversed. To me, this is telling me that hanging onto the past is impacting upon trying to make a new start.

I hope others find this spread as useful and insightful. :D

1. Take a closer look at this
Magician rev - where things have fallen flat... or rather, when other people have bamboozled you. Be wary. I don't like this guy. Watch that you're not getting screwed over.
WHY: Page of Cups. NFI here. Both figures are holding ups, I notice. It's like two interpretations of the same coin - you can be unhappy, or happy with what you have in life.

2. Don't worry so much about this
7 of Wands. The vibe here is that I don't need to worry so much about getting ahead in life. I'm guessing this means stuff will probably work out in its own time.

3. Beware of this danger
7 of Swords reversed - despite the reversed meaning of this card usually indicating 'truth', what I'm feeling here is that the card is saying not to try to get away with anything I shouldn't, because it'll be picked up. I'm being monitored! The vibe here is 'shortcuts' or 'personal business'.
WHY: Knight of Pentacles rev, they are looking for someone to cut off, to send adrift on their own journey. Hmm...

4. Hold tight to this
8 of Pentacles. My work, my craft.

5. Learn to appreciate this
King of Pentacles rev - frugalness. the person who doesn't give. (HUH?)
WHY: Strength. I don't need validation from others - I got enough internally.

6. Stop pursuing this
Emperor reversed - the person who wants everything and is always unsatisfied. Oh, hello, I know you, I work with you. Yes I agree, not worth my time :D

7. Seek this
Queen of Pentacles - this figure is very refined and in a slightly elitist way, doesn't have time for anything she feels in beneath her.

Just wanted to say thank you Pandora! This is a really good spread, for weekly planning or whenever.

My goal this year is to get off book and read by intuition. One year ago, I never would have thought I could read 14 cards in one go with such clarity and ease.

Maybe some readers don’t need spreads and if that works for them, great.
I do appreciate some structure, and the positions really appealed to me.

I'm planning a long weekend starting tomorrow (it compensates that I don't get the easter break because being in retail sucks :mad:).

1. Take a closer look at this.
Ace of Coins.
Go over the finances, look at where I could be saving or economising (makes sense as it's payday tomorrow).

2. Don't worry so much about this.
3 of Cups.
Socialising or get togethers are not obligatory, so I'm not going to stress about 'being there or being square'. I'm quite happy being a shape.

3. Beware of this danger.
High expectations for something that a) I have no control over and b) can't be rushed as it's not finalised yet. So no sitting and stewing this weekend wishing for a specific communication to come through.

4. Hold tight to this.
The Sun.
Optimism. Just enjoy the break knowing that I'm doing OK.

5. Learn to appreciate this.
Temperance.
Haha, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, appreciate that, switching off is not a bad thing, it's necessary.

6. Stop pursuing this.
7 of Cups.
Maybe I need to settle on a plan for one specific thing this weekend, instead of imagining how much I'm going to do (cos it's not going to be possible to achieve everything on the list).

7. Seek this.
4 of Spears (Wands).
And that's settled, weather permitting, I'm going to get some work done in the garden and if the weather is bad, spring cleaning and some diy in the house.

Glad you all like the spread. I found it extremely accurate and easy to use. Plus I never remember to actually to a weekly or monthly spread at the beginning of the week or month!

I'll post next week's one over the next few days, it will be interesting to see how many changes it shows or if it's the same sort of themes.

Weekly Planning Thread for Sunday 26 March - Saturday 31 March.

1 + 8 (The Tower + The World) - Why do I need to take a closer look at this?
I need to chase up the builder to get the shed finished. It's nearly there but needs a bit more work, then Council can approve it and it will be another chapter ticked off the box and I can then move on.

2 + 9 (King of Swords + 6 of Pentacles) - Why don't I have to worry too much about this? I've been pressuring my brother (King of Swords) to stop dragging his feet and get the agency agreement signed so the house can get on the market. I don't have to worry too much, as despite money being critically low, I can borrow enough to tide me over.

3 + 10 (3 of Cups + 2 of Swords). I must be aware of the danger of socialising too much, using escape tactics so I don't have to face the reality of the situation, by way of indulging in a glass of wine or two in the evenings or going round to friend's places for drinks.

4 + 11 (10 of Wands reversed + Ace of Pentacles). I must hold on tight to the last bit of work that needs doing. Nearly there, don't drop the load. Once the hard yakka is done, I can then concentrate getting that big fat pentacle happening.

5 + 12 (8 of Wands reversed + Knight of Cups reversed) I must appreciate the fact that things take time and aren't always going to go to plan, and it is to be expected that there will be delays and hence frustration. Why I must appreciate this, is because frustrations and delays can lead to mood changes, which really won't serve any purpose and make matters worse.

6 + 13 (5 of Pentacles reversed + The Magician reversed)
I must stop pursuing the idea of renting temporary accommodation when I sell because this is just a total rip off of money and a lack of power. I'll still be no further ahead in the sense that I really need to find my own house to settle into and then be able to work out a plan for making sustainable money. By renting, more time will be wasted, leading to more frustration, and more money will ultimately be lost.

7 + 14 (King of Pentacles + 4 of Cups)
I must seek the highest price I can possibly get when I sell and not be tempted to take the first offer that comes along. I must stick to my ground. The more money I can get, the better set up for the future I will be.

From this spread, I can now actually do actionable things to help, such as ring the real estate agent to find out what price to put the house on for, ring the builder and get him to hurry up and get the shed finished, talk to my brother and get him on board to get the agency agreement signed asap.

The more I use this spread, the more I like it. It's great it gives me plans of action to help me throughout the week. :biggrin:

Nice! I like that you have added the 'why" element to the questions.
I suppose asking 'how' is also another way to help plan the week, especially if something unusual or complicated showed up in the cards.
It does seems a fairly versatile spread to help with planning the week or even a one off project.
