Spiritual Forums - Our Fourm Rules

We want to provide a free, fun, and open community for Spiritual discussions. However we also must protect our members and staff. The following rules have been adopted, to keep everyone's experience positive. We appreciate your understanding and co-operation in keeping Spiritual Forums the premier forum for Spiritual and related discussions!

If you have an issue with a particular post or member, in the first instance, please send a message (PM) to a Moderator, or clicking on the Report Post icon () on the relevant post. Please do not start new threads complaining about members or other posts. These will be either removed or closed.

Word filters are in place to ***** out profanity and swear words. Any member caught trying to bypass the word filter system in order to post a word or phrase that is unacceptable may be banned for a while. Repeating this conduct may result in a permanent ban.

Preaching will once again be permitted anywhere on the forum. Anyone preaching will be expected to carry on a discussion, or even a civil debate with other members. Excessive arguing, insulting, intolerance, etc, may result in Warnings being issued. Of course, you will not be able to dictate who can and cannnot post in any thread you start.

Signatures: No more than 3 links to websites. Links MUST NOT be commercial, in other words if the site sells anything or charges a fee for readings, do not post that link. Paid psychics may not advertise here. Repeating this conduct may result in a permanent ban.

Links to other Forums: If you run a forum and want to put a link to it in the Links Directory, your signature, or Links forum , can you provide a link back to SpiritualForums.com on your site/directory there? Again, if the site sells anything or charges a fee for readings, do not post that link. Paid psychics may not advertise here. Repeating this conduct may result in a permanent ban.

Respect: Please respect other members beliefs, opinions, and views. Do not post flames, accusations, taunts, or other personal attacks. We will remove posts that degrade, attack, demean, insult, affront or otherwise injure another person or group's beliefs, views, gender, orientation, etc. Discussions and friendly debates are welcome and encouraged but must remain civil. Opinions need be labeled as such, in order to avoid preaching. Please remember that volunteer staff persons are first and foremost members. Repeating this conduct may result in a permanent ban.

Language: Please do not use foul or abusive language, as this is a forum for all ages and lifestyles. We reserve the right to edit/remove posts with offensive language. Keep in mind that English is not always the primary language of all our members. Words and phrases, and especially slang, might not mean the same thing in every culture. Be tolerant of a fellow member’s comments, and don’t assume the worst. Repeating this conduct may result in a permanent ban.

* Spamming - posts will be deleted without notice if off-topic, inflammatory, pointless, bump, troll, spam, fly-posting or similar comments are made. This conduct may result in a permanent ban.

* Multiple Accounts are strictly forbidden! There is no need for more than one account per member. Accounts may be suspended or permanently banned if it is found you are posting using multiple accounts. Multiple Accounts are often used when a member has broken site rules and has been warned, suspended, or banned.

* Advertising - this is a free community which is not supported by ads, unlike many other sites. Please respect our service and other members by placing links in the Links Directory or the Member's Links & Websites forum. You may also place reasonable links in your signature. We will remove blatant advertising posts without further notice. Repeating this conduct may result in a permanent ban.

Based upon the rules above, Disciplinary Action, known as DA, may need to be taken occasionally. The following will apply to all DA on this forum, and in some extreme situations may not apply. In other words, a member could be banned sooner than outlined below, if their conduct warrants such action.

PMs to staff will never be posted on the open forum. They may be posted in the private Staff Area for discussion of possible DA. PMs from one member to another should not be posted. If such PMs are posted, and a member complains to the staff, DA may result. Our moderators are volunteer and are not paid. Most of their duties are simple housekeeping in nature. They are also members, and as such, deserve the same respect you would show any member.

Warnings: Infractions of the listed rules may result in a warning. After one warning, Action as outlined will result. All staff actions, other than warnings, will remain private and will not be reported to the membership, and may not be discussed by the member on the open forum. The schedule of warnings and resulting Actions is as follows:

1st warning: no action will be taken
2nd warning: 1 month ban
3rd warning: 3 month ban
4th warning: permanent ban

While the rules will be applied equally to every member, every situation is unique and will be decided on its own merits. The staff is bound by the forum rules, just as any member, and has no extra or special rights or privileges.
