I had a vision from god
All that it said was יר (yod resh)

I know nothing of hebrew
So I was hoping someone from here who speaks it could help me

Generally when things like that happen it's to invite you to seek so you shall find. There could be many layers of meaning here and the encounter with understandings tailor fit to your journey. Emotions can grow intense; what sort of intensity relates to your relationship. If Fred Nietczhe ever spoke one word of wisdom it was perhaps this: "Become Who You Are"

Yod - the smallest letter of the Hebrew alphabet. 'the atom that creates all'. Some say all letters when written with brush stroke begin with the Yod, some that all/most end with the yod. It is a humble letter yet exalted, some say the essense of God. the least yet all-fulfilling. It is the 10th letter which is the number of community and completion (it takes 10 people as a quorum to form a synagogue). it's sound is the y or ee, the sort that often gets written with a j in some languages. It is one of the few Hebrew consonants that can serve as a vowel (vowels are not written with letters n Hebrew). It's originating pictograph may have been the hand or arm.

Resh - "R". pictograph head, number 200. abbreviation for rabbi, or head or teacher, sometimes used like "Dr." is in English.

in my Days of God I kept a Book of Fish and one of the things that came out of it was a ditty: "Rho Rho Rho your boat, Reshing down the Stream. Mem or E Mem or E Mem or E..." don't remember the last verse. my stuff was coupled with Kaph Quoph which also pictographs to hand (like yod)... in your case yod stressing the small-humble-activator maybe.

another possibility is that it is a pun on "why are" spoken in Hebrew letters; if you are searching into stuff like that as a notion of arcana and the Spirit is challenging you to consider why you are looking for universal Omni truth in things that are foreign to you. I had situations like that.
