Edward Scissorhands

I just re-watched this film on the big screen a couple of nights ago at a local theatre. I was thinking how films like this are so rare these days (at least in the mainstream movie houses)---films that include beautiful music and imagery and interesting, quirky storylines that are also poignant and haunting.

It was a delight to see this on the big screen again. If I weren't so tired, I would be able to write some more thoughtful things about it.....

For now, all I can say is that Johnny Depp as Edward was a beautiful choice and fit.

I love the sweet little scene where Edward is holding Kim (Winona Ryder) in her lovely white Christmas dress......(((sigh))) So romantic and sweet.

It was a very rich, very moving ~ and very modern story, I remember going to the theatre with a bunch of friends ~ it was packed ~ that movie had everything.

Another one of my favs.
Depp radiates in this role.
Though I haven't seen it for years, i will have to watch it again 'cus I can't recall any deep emotion about it.

Love the movie. I have it in my collection as well. Have you ever seen Powder? For some reason I think of that movie as well when I think of Edward Scissorhands.

My son and I saw Powder together, and we both thought it was really good, but really sad, of course. Absolutely, total misfits.

Very sad movie, and yes, misfits, maybe that's why I liked it so, being a misfit. My youngest son loved these movies as well.

Ah yeah, Powder, a brilliant movie.

For me, "Edward Scissorhands" represented acceptance, the beauty with in all of us no matter how our extierior may look. Or, how in need of a manicure we may become!

Exactly~~If you haven't seen Powder, you really should ~ equally, if not more touching.
