Forgiving and the restoration of alignment

Hello all. The opening suggestion here is that forgiving allows for the restoration of alignment with wholeness.

The suggestion raises all manner of questions as we can all understand I think.

Cheers. petex

Forgiveness is necessary for the spiritual path and I would agree that it aligns you with wholeness.

Hello.

Before we can proceed I think the question of what do we mean by "wholeness" ? presents itself. Is this a question which can be answered?

Hello.

Continuing along a path of exploration, a sort of thinking aloud stumbling along with no intention of trying to prove or disprove, sharing of thoughts no agenda type of exercise open to all wishing to walk/stumble along together---

Maybe "wholeness" cannot be objectively described simply because all is of the whole, so there is no view point from which to observe objectively?
What there is however is the condition of "being of the whole" . Perhaps(?) this is itself a useful meaning to explore. petex

maybe a description, being a part of wholeness, can not attain to being able to completely describe that to which it relates as but a part? (I think this may be of taoist origin).

forgiveness does not bring someone to "wholeness"-whatever you mean by wholeness. This is not a new agy type of forum.

forgiveness is a deliberate decisions to release feelings of resentment or any type of vengeance. As a Christian we go to our Heavenly Father to ask His help in forgiving.

It is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost who brings us to wholeness.

Lets remember weareunity-0this is a Christian forum-and any attempt by you to take God out of the equation is going to be met with discussion.

If your statement is of Taoist origin-pls go post your post in the Taoist forum.

I am very puzzled why people who are not Christian come into this forum and post the new agy type statements-I mean what is the purpose? what is the objective? why such the insistence of removing God(who is sovereign and thee creator of everything) from the equation?

weareunity-it would be like me goig into the Taoist forum and posting Christian beliefs-

what is your objective or point to attempting to introduce the new agy stuff?

Hello white pegasus and all.

Leaving the explorative path for a moment.

white pegasus

I understand your concern. With respect, the opening post suggests that "forgiving allows for the restoration of alignment with wholeness". Allows for-not of itself bringing that about. Rather like a key that must first be recognised as necessary allows a door to be opened but does not of itself open that door.

Please allow me also to repeat that I have no agenda. I know next to nothing concerning Taoism or the teachings of Taoism. I am not repeating in my own words something which I have read or heard elsewhere but simply exploring as described, stumbling along a pathway of thought/thoughts which have no labels or ownership.

The sole reason for posting on this section of the forum is that to me one of the most transformative teachings in the new testament concerns forgiving.--and it thus seems reasonable to explore the subject in this section.

If the very existence of having/seeing this thread on this section is found offensive to readers, my most sincere apology for I have no wish to offend.

Good wishes. petex

weareunity-if I came across abrasively, I apologize. It wasn't the sight of your thread, it simply(for me) was a lack of acknowledgement of God in the forgiveness process.

I again want to apologize to you-Please forgive me for accusing you of something that was false.

Fresh start? I believe that forgiveness is the first step towards wholeness/healing. However, we suffer from the human condition.

I think Christians and non-Christians alike make mistakes-harm people, etc.

Yes, I agree that once one makes a decision to forgive it opens up to healing. However, I know for me that I have to have Gods help to forgive.
