Glowing Trees Could Replace Street Lights
Hello,
I wonder how will trees glow during fall or winter when most of the leaves are falling. Quote:

Very cool! The leaves will light the road then be washed away by the rain and we'll have glowing sewers. But ive been watching science shows for years and not one thing ive seen brought to the general public. Whats the most scientific thing in our house? TV and computers, and maybe drones

They might try going back to the source, and superglue glowworms to the twigs of the trees. |
Hello,
I know you were being sarcastic, but I like to point out that glow-worms only come out during summer. I'm sure they will die from the cold. Now that I think of it, there were hardly any in summer, must be the insecticides killing them off. Same with bees, haven't seen any in my yard this year - usually I would see them pollinating flowers. Don't recall any bees from last year either. How sad. Lepus |
Well ok, I was being a bit sarky. When I heard the story on the radio the other day I thought it a bad idea.
Now if they could make the chemicals photosensitive so the plants only begin glowing when the sun goes down, then that might be a sight to see on our streets of the future. |
Very cool thanks for sharing the online article . I'd like to see that happen with Glowing Trees.

glowing trees might look cool just like glowing cats they've actually made, and the idea of replacing streetlights with trees is nice, but the reality is that nanotechnology is a nefarious practice and will destroy nature, so it's not such a great idea at all and I would cry if it happened. no matter how much I love glowing stuff, it wouldn't be worth it.. on another note, an Astronomer teacher I once said that they had the light from streetlights going in the wrong direction and most of the light was wasted by pointing too toward the sky, which deprives us from seeing as many stars and does an insufficient job lighting the streets. I would love to see a new improved alternative to traditional street lights that we have most places now, but destroying nature with nanoparticles is not the answer and if they really try to implement this then people will need to stand up and stop it, or else....
