Wild Animal Reunions

Oh wow, I just had to post!

Last night I was watching TV and was the conclusion of a series relating to wild animal reunions. This related to instances of wild animals either being nurtured in a sanctuary for their well-being or protection, or where a special trust had developed because of unique circumstances.

I must say, this touched my heart so much to see the reaction of wild animals from deer to wolves to a rhinos where after being released into the wild their carer came back to visit them and their reaction to them. It was simply astonishing to see the affection being shown and how humans can interact with animals and nature in perfect harmony without disturbing the eco system. It made me want to reach out and touch the very hearts and souls of these special animals and people.

I whole-heartedly recommend this series if you get the opportunity to watch it :)

Hi Ghost Rider,

Thanks for reminding me about the documentary I watched a while ago. It was about animal and human reunion. Now that I think about it, I wonder if we humans can learn a thing or two from that. Let me ponder on it ... ^_^

Has anyone seen the Documentary "A lion called Christian" ? I thoroughly recommend it on just this subject alone.

I sobbed like a child at the reunion between Christian and his former owners. They had bought him from Harrods as a cub but when he got too big they gave him to George Adamson (of Elsa the Lioness Born Free fame) to rehabilitate. It's a remarkable story. I thoroughly recommend it.

It's pretty well known among animal lovers that an animal instantly knows when another of its kind is related to them even if they have never met that particular animal before. Related animals get along better than unrelated ones.
