fingers close or separated
 

when applying reiki to myself, in some chakras i feel an intense warm. if that means the chakra has an excess of energy. should i apply my hands with open fingers to allow the energy flow away ans estabilize the chakra?

The heat that you feel is the reiki energy coming from your palms, not your chakras. If you feel warmth or heat in that area it means more energy is being taken in there (that chakra needs more energy balancing). Whether you spread your fingers or keep them together doesn't matter. The energy is flowing out through the palms.

your comment seems very clear and right. my doubt was if the heat in those areas were due to lack of energy or excess of it. i assume the right way is just keep my hand longer in those chakras to balance the excess of energy there.

I wouldn't say that there is an excess of energy, but more like that chakra is "ill", it is unbalanced due to either emotional, physical, or psychological trauma/reasons. Maybe in some cases there would be an excess but from my experience it was usually the opposite.
