Plants at risk too.
https://www.atlasobscura.com/articles/cactus-candy. Here is and article to show people either plant or animal we as individuals need to be responsible of the foods we eat. We need to know how sustainable the things we buy really are. I understand that a lot of people are concerned about the animals. But plants are at risk as well if we don't pay attention.

Your point is incredibly valid, though I'd say that article is more of an example of veganism not actually being healthy if people eat refined sugar and candy, etc.. It's very true that a lot of plantlife has been and is victimized and threatened unfortunately.
It's important to be conscientious about whatever you eat, and it is easier said than done of course because you either have to grow it yourself wisely, or get it from others who grow it whom you can converse with and make sure they have worthwhile practices and don't use detrimental or toxic products or take advantage of others or nature, etc.. also why the Fair Trade movement and things like that are gaining popularity. I think if we look there are a lot of examples of plants becoming rare or near extinction because of the lack of consciousness from people. but humans also do and can play a role in restoring and assisting nature too. If we weren't here much of it would never need restoring or assistance, but all in all I think if we as populations grow and become more enlightened we can ultimately be a great blessing to nature.. that's one of the main reasons I think we are here for.. it's weird to think about how much different nature there is though, and how we can orchestrate it and I can't really say if we were ever supposed to reorganize or redecorate things too much lol but since we are already at the point of having destroyed much of it all we can do is look to the present and future and try to feed the Earth's evolution with a part of our own souls and hearts |

I care a lot about plants, and it's actually one of many reasons why I am vegetarian. Lots of rainforests are destroyed so people can grow beans that end up in the farms so there can be beef, pork, and chicken on the plate. This means a whole library of plant life and trees are destroyed and going extinct. We cannot avoid not having an impact but reducing it, and eliminating certain practices, is key..
When I grew up we had fruit trees, bushes, and many veggies in the garden. Plants are beautiful and I care a lot. I don't pick flowers and never step on them either. When I see tree trunks cut or an area of forest cut down it breaks my heart. If I'm in a neighbourhood with no or few trees, and see people's ''gardens'' being just grass and stone it makes me at unease. Not only because the plants provide homes for animals, but also because plants are beautiful by themselves. I could stare at on old tree or the details of a cabbage plant for hours. It is truly magnificent. But we can't avoid not partaking in the web of life, so what is left to do for me is to reduce harm done.. |
