Have you tried getting a reading from a psychic/clairvoyant/medium? I've seen members give these types of readings on the forum in the Reading Request section. We do have some very gifted members on here. :)

Before I tell you how to get around the hypnosis and/or past life regression 'block', you need to consider carefully WHY you are blocked. There may be a GOOD reason. Perhaps knowing that will cause a block in this life.

FYI: it doesn't make any sense to me that knowing your past lives will make you a better person. Unless you go visit those past lives, any changes will have to be made now from where you are currently at. Seems way more useful to find out about this life where you have a decent chance of making some changes.

I don't know what your other skills are but here are a few suggestions:
1. With advanced OBE (astral travel or phasing), you can just go visit your other incarnations.
2. Send a message and have them come visit you.
3. Have some one look into the akashic records for you.
4. Visit a SEER and have them visit your past lives.
5. Talk to your over-soul or higher self (if you have one).
