During self Reiki i started seeing images
 

yesterday i was doing reiki on myself, i started seeing clear random images, faces especially a strange eye of someone or some being kept showing up atleast thrice and i had to call archangel michael to protect thinking i was opening myself to realms, but the images kept showing up, i meant crystal clear images.

anyone experienced this while doing reiki ?

Reiki opens up any psychic ability, so all you're doing is picking up on your spirit friends. The eye can indicate your third eye or brow chakra opening. You don't need to call for protection.

From what my Reiki master has told me. You are always protected the moment you are attuned. Though lately I've been feeling disconnected from Reiki...kinda worries me.

Hi Sunnyshine, i too see faces etc when i am giving myself some reiki, last week i kept seeing a dolphin and a bird of prey. I agree with enya that seeing the eye can be indicating yout third eye.

I saw this eye when I was getting attuned last weekend and my reiki master (after I explained it to her, as t was on my right hand side looking forward, so I was viewing the left eye) suggested that I had seen one of my guides, which was lovely and comforting. I've ever previously seen anything - in meditation etc so I believe that it has certainly opened me up!!!

Yes, most of the time. Seeing an eye is not uncommon as it is part of the social triangle, including the nose. I believe that when you are viewing with your minds eye you are viewing the subconscious area of your brain. The sub conscious has its own language and it converses is in images. This area is where memories are stored and is also the area of psychic senses i believe. Being that you see many sets of eyes in a day it could be just a memory from your past, which would be the scientific approach though those that lend toward the spiritual existance may equate it to the psychic centre. I dont know of any sure way of knowing if its a memory or from the psychic senses and its not a question that i would want to answer with any certainty.

I suggest grounding yourself in any way that resonates you prior to starting Reiki for protection. Whether it be asking your angels, spirit guides, your higher source, positive affirmations for grounding, imagining that there are roots growing from the soles of your feet that connects to the ground, or imagining that you are hugging a tree, or whatever protection method works for you. When I do Reiki, my focus is the energy itself, I can also intend and block myself to not see or hear things paranormal or from the spirit world while I'm giving reiki because I can quickly lose focus. Another reiki practioner said that she didn't want to do reiki for over a year because she saw a ghost or a spirit while giving treatment and it scared her.

I know someone who, when receiving reiki, gets images and sees different places. Has seen alien races/planets, atlantis, etc.

This is pretty cool. I too see images. The first time I saw a image. I thought that I saw someone bowing.

Now I see images all the time. At first I thought that I was nuts. Then I've read about others seeing images. So I figured out that it was a common occurrence to see images.
