Perhaps Reiki just brought out your inherent abilities as a (powerful) healer:)

A medium told me I had natural healing abilities and two healers in my bloodline.

After that I went and for certified, yes to level two. Havent used it yet accept for on myself.

Your decision to heal yourself first was in my opinion also well made. I believe one has to be healthy himself before he can start healing others. Self-healing also promotes improving of your own energy perception which can come in handy at times when you treat others and would like to perform simple energy diagnostics.
