Jokes makes blind
I don't like jokes and I don't like to laugh.
In my opinion they makes me and other people that listens (and maybe laugh of them) totally blind of the truth. Jokes tend to carry a truth and when we laugh of them we get blinded - and often it hurts also. Humour is a dangerous weapon and can cause much pain. I would like to state right here and now that I'm sorry to all people I have made laugh. PS! Did you know that the word "Smile" doesn't appear in the whole Bible, and that the word "Laughter" doesn't exist in The New Testament? I like it to be serious. I'm deep down a strong faithful and not a joker. |

Luke 6:21
21 How blessed are you who are hungry now, because you will be satisfied! How blessed are you who are crying now, because you will laugh! Laughter is only bad when your intent is bad with others. |

That's interesting. In the apocrypha, Jesus criticizes those who are in ignorance and loving it, rejoicing in mad laughter, as they are considered fools. On the other hand, he tells his disciples that they should be happy because they are the elect, having thus received blessings and knowledge.
It depends on who is laughing, then, whether it is a wise man or a fool. This is a thought I've written a while ago: The apathy of the fool is cursed, the apathy of the wise man is blessed. The joy of the fool is cursed, the joy of the wise man is blessed. I'd like to know more about why you think humour is bad, it sure is a distraction, many times malicious in modern times. |
I find it easy to make people laugh. Jokes and laughter are great for breaking the ice. I have many many times been on the receiving end of malicious jokes and humour. I'm aware that I tend to attract that kinda of humour were people just want to release their pent up anger. Obviously I attract that because of my own issues. Jokes and laughter is great, but if it turns malicious not so great. Damaging to peoples self esteem, the perfect way to release anger and get away with it.

Being so serious about humour is, in itself, comical.

No offense but you seem a bit confuzzled... There are worse things to worry about rather than trivial matter such as this, as there is nothing wrong with some sense of humor.

Two guys walk in to a bar , sory where was I ? Oh yea jokes . yea some jokes are raceiest or hurt full to some people , but that does not make one blind . I guess if the rite person heard the joke and slammed his/her fist in to your eyes it could make you blind . Other wise a joke is a joke . The two guys had a few beers and walked out of the bar . The jokes are on the bath room wall , and yea there really bad jokes ..I cant post them hear you will need to read them for your self .

Just read this quote from Gurdjieff. Not sure if its genuine but here it is..."Laughter relieves us of superfluous energy, which if it remained unused, might become negative, that is poison. Laughter is the antidote".

Oh yes having someone slam their fist in your face causes blindness for sure, luckily only temporary. I've experienced this a few times. I dont recommend it. |
