has anyone ever been in the presence of an enlightened master?
 

what's it like? I'm talking about being in the presence of one who is one with the divine. I hear they radiate a lot of love and compassion. it must be amazing to be around them. but yeah, has anyone been around one? describe your experience?

It is hard to say.

Many years ago, I spent a lot of time in the company of Swami Chidananda Saraswati and Swami Satyananda Saraswati from the Divine Life Society in Rishikesh...and many said they were 'enlightened masters' but even if they were, I never put any real credence in it. I just saw them as 'spiritual teachers' and they were kind, humble and totally unassuming, like wise, old grandfather figures and they were always a pleasure to be around...but I always knew that everybody has that potential and so I saw them and treated them as being no 'different' to anybody else...not 'higher' or 'lower' or 'otherwise' to a 'normal human being'.....those who treated them with reverence and respect got more out of it than I obviously did...so I also realised that it was not the influence of the 'enlightened master' per se...but the influence of one's own expectations and attitudes towards them when one is around them which also has a lot to do with it.

Interesting question.
I will not say who...but, it was said he was,...he probably thought so also, LOL! He was called Guru.
What was it like? My God...I couldn't put it in words...and then, there are those would say 'he' did nothing...
it was all inside me; that
I allowed these mind blowing, transcendental altered states to happen
because "I" allowed them, "I" created them.

Did Yogananda 'allow' them when he first saw Sri Yukteswar in that alley?

So, ok, sure it was partly 'me'....but, I have never been around anyone else with THAT transformative power...
to overwhelm my being with such
immense Divine Love...:love9:
to walk away for hours not 'feeling my feet or legs', per se,...as if
I was outside my body?
See? It is so hard to say.

I have looked at him in a crowd before, even, and said secretly to him...
"If you are who you (they) say you are...show me....right now....do it."
And, lemme tellya...I was 'zapped'.
Zapped into some 'state' walking around with my mouth dropped in some sort of awe.(that was another time)


I have looked him in the eyes and he me as I would shake my head, mouth dropped again as I was realizing, it was 'him' who
just did such and such for me earlier...with him smiling subtly and nodding...as if saying, 'Yup, that's right'.


I have become in his presence or darshan, 'not me'...just this egoless being enraptured, drunk in love with everything and everybody unabashedly...like a child, smiling like an idiot savant.

I sat about 25 feet away for hours a few times...but once, with 10,000 people watching, more really...he looked at me and only me in the front row...close enough at times to read his watch,... for 5 looong slow inhales and exhales....when I, like an usher type person,

I would turn around to look at the bleachers of maybe 17K...and all their love to him seemed to go through ME...when I would look at him...
he looked down at me as if to say..."Yum, isn't it?"...(my silly words).

Being in his presence showed me the capacity of the human heart...just how much Love it can really handle!

I could say more...thank God he showed me how 'to not have to be' in his darshan.
(As if he has dissolved himself into the air...but, see, that is the nature of God Himself, anyway...
and when you /I get into that 'attitude'....oh my...) :smile:

Many Masters Of Many Fields
 

Ive worked with few differrent master carpenters off and on over last 20 years.

At least one other person referred to me as a master of association, but to be clear that ability is related to a few catagories and only because Ive researched the issue.

I met a few people who I thought were masters of deception/misleading etc.

Ive worked with one person who I believed to a master of farming.

Ive met a few people who I thought were masters of manipulation.

The list goes on but that gives a sampling.

Many mothers are masters of managment.

I thought I would add that a friend who had the same Guru...saw the Dalai Lama
and said she had an overwhelmingly high experience.
And come to think of it...Listening in the audience to Dr. Wayne Dyer,
bless his little soul,
I walked out as I would having listened to the Guru's devotees giving sat sang...certainly
the wonderful Alpha state...my brain waves were there!
Truth for just a few minutes can do that I find.

Is there an effect in large numbers...maybe, yes.
Can you get swept up in a crowd of spiritually minded people
with one focus?:smile:

I have had the honour from this side of life and beyond .

The energy does indeed encapsulate you with love, a love that infiltrates to the core . It is a resonance like no other .

You read about some wacky theories nowadays from peeps who say these enlightened / divine beings from the other side of life are really demons in disguise lol ..

How many demons do they know that radiate love? :D

I like to relate a story in regards.

When I first contacted my spirit guides and shared that experience, I got the same reply; "don't listen to those angels, they are only demons in disguise" and so, I took it to my guides who said "don't listen to those humans, they are only demons in disguise". LOL

I learned a LOT from that...in that what OTHERS experience can in no way reflect ones own experiences at this level.

While I may not have had any real life changing and transformative experience with living 'Divine Masters' on this physical plane, I have also been in the presence of Lord Shiva...my 'inner Guru' and THAT experience totally goes beyond words...nothing I could write here will ever be able to express it.

Well my memories about it are rather somewhat vague by now, but I still recall being with a beautiful feminine energy or spirit in a spiritual dream that I wouldn't wanna trade with an encounter with one of those ascended masters to be honest. Unless it was an ascended master that is into cross-dressing. But that would be unforgivable, lol. But the feeling was kinda like being accepted and loved unconditionally even if you deem yourself to be unworthy or evil.
