Ideas of Heaven
Various cultures have different ideas and representations of heaven.
Christians say it is the clouds, sky and light. Some say, the galaxies, stars and outer space are. Some down-to-earth ideas include night club, dungeon, house, tree house, living in the jungle and so on. Some are specific and worldly, such as world peace, social harmony and utopia. Eastern religions say we all are part of the One, and therefore it is our duty to look after it, clean it, protect it, preserve it and fulfil it. Sometimes, I imagine my heaven as an arcane sanctuary, where from the exterior, it is a diminutive house or temple, but as you enter, it is an infinite plane. Sometimes, I prefer ultimate solitude and would like to own my own universe metaphysically entirely different and in parallel with the current one. It could be where everything is computerised. Sometimes, it is a sacred library. Sometimes, it is no civilisation but fully natural beauty and primitive world. Sometimes, it is an immortal astronaut living in a space capsule travelling in hyperspace. Values change and so are perceptions of heaven. Anyone who reads this, please do share your perceptions, values and ideas of heaven. |
Personally i do agree with S. Browne's description of "the other side" (heaven) a parallel world similar to this physical one only far more beautiful as it is unmarred by human careless ways... this physical world is an image of the other side. The other side also has all species of animals that are now extinct on this plane. The other side lies on a higher vibration level, it is also very luminous. Over there it is perfect bliss and life is meaningful and active, meaning your life there is not to be lost in awe before the Creator as Christianity says...you occupy yourself with lots of activities that you fancy and you interact with lots of people and animals, etc.... The other side is a "real" place meaning not ethereal and neither a state of mind. You can have glimpses of the other side, here and now as well as going on "trips" over there either in your waking state or while astral traveling during the night. It is where we come from in the first place and I look forward to going back home
Well, this is a brief description of what i believe "heaven" is. |
I've often asked the spirits (I record EVPs) to describe heaven and they're generally not very forthcoming with info on the subject. I suspect heaven is hard to describe in terms that we, the living, can fully comprehend.
One spirit told me that " heaven is perfect." But isn't the thought of a perfect place highly subjective? It sounds to me like heaven can accommodate everyone's personal taste. I asked one spirit what he was doing in heaven that he enjoyed and he told me "fishing." Perhaps being on a lake fishing is that spirit's idea of a perfect place. |
I would drop the term "heaven" all together, specially if it suggests or is described as an endpoint. There is no endpoint in creation.

What you were told by this spirit is very interesting! it goes along with the way I see life on the other side... you do the things you love to do  |
I attune easily to your idea of Heaven, Shalimar, and your words brought me a lot of joy tonight.

I don't believe in an actual "heaven". Rather there are any number of places that each of us can choose to go.
If you want to feel void, there are places for that, if you want a nice little cloud to sit on, that can be arranged, if you want to help mankind and be a peace tho not on this plane, but the next, there is a place for that, if you want to go to school, you can do that, if you want to be an ambassador to other planets you will find your place there. |
Heaven will be something much better than this place we live in and somewhere hopefully we cant remember it.
i would hope it is nothing physical but a spiritual eternal union with God maybe in another type of reality? |
From what I understand, heaven is probably the wrong term to use, the afterlife experience will vary, depending on one,s viewpoint, for instance, those who expect grassy flower filled meadows, will get just that, whilst others who expect non stop feasting and drinking will also get what they want, the point is that the afterlife models itself on what the individual expects. But the crux of the matter, is these are just illusions to ease you into the environment of post death existence,to make you feel at home, as it were.
