Why are we here? My darlin
 

You got it all in your hand
But you don’t take the stand
Why are we here? My darlin

These reflections of past
Where nothing lasts
And blinded for the future to come
It all seems to me
Just make believe
With a heart that’s silently numb

If I could see again
Would we ever blend?
Why are we here? My darlin

These feelings of yesterday
Still haunt me today
Carrying this weight on my own
Tears too real, too true
This ocean of blue
With a love lost from home

We have it all together
But drifting like a feather
Why are we here? My darlin

I could probably sit and think about your poem all night long. I've been rereading over and over and I think I just about understand it but then I see it in a new light and I have to start over again. It's really a good poem. It's complex. Makes me think.

4~ because deep ~0~ waters are silent ~3
4~ but some can still hear voices coming from the ocean ~3
4~ so we go sailing ~3
4~ stuck at sea ~3
4~ waiting ~3
4~ because you could look at it in too many ways ~3
4~ you could take a picture and stare at it but even pictures fade ~3
4~ Lit infant and intermittent dream hermit at it for infinite days ~3
4~ vibrant contrivances chasing me down rabbit holes ~3
4~ and thoughts go roaming through the basement ~3
4~ because it's a maze ~3
4~ and we could stay down there till we wonder where the days went ~3
4~ Dream so lucid in this ****ty synchronicity city ~3
4~ and everything's under the sea ~3
4~ and it's quiet as **** out here ~3
