I tend to like spiritual books of the early 20th century if possible?

The Complete Idiot's Guide to Elves and Fairies by Sirona Knight is the best I've read so far, can find it on amazon pretty cheap and you may even find a PDF online somewhere.

Hey Burntfruit, all of those recommendations look great. The Magic of Faeries by Cassandra Eason, and the Element Encyclopaedia of Magical Creatures by Caitlin, John Matthews are my two faves. Encounters with Nature Spirits by Robert Crombie is another I love but still am yet to read through :)
