stag with attitude
As I was sketching this fellow at the zoo the other day he kept hissing at me and tried to bite me. Done from memory and imagination.

more 6"x6"
...because I post so many on instagram I have resigned myself to painting on small squares of paper... Art is so healing and a fantastic relaxation exercise which sometimes turns into a meditation.
Here's a little weasel, and a budgie. (Good thing they're separated as I don't think they'd get along.) :D ☜(˚▽˚)☞ |

Hen longingly looking at her egg is great! And rabbit is so cute. I love the orange colours, and the shades of the fur too. |
Thanks Josephine!

I love this, all cats are amazing. Do you see much nature, or all these pure imagination? |

Thank you. It's both. I'm aiming for 100% imagination but I do need to check references photos for the animals and birds as I haven't yet memorized what parts go where, proportions etc. I prefer to sketch from life - for things like this I need to go to a zoo and then imagine it in a more natural setting. Thanks for asking. |
Thank you for sharing, Uma. Really enjoyed browsing this thread.

foxes foxes foxes
I saw the most beautiful red fox in the forest the other day - with a thick fluffy coat. We looked at each other for a moment then he ran off, peeping at me from behind a log. I just can't stop painting foxes. These are all watercolours done from imagination.

That's nice Uma. Vibrant colours. The European robin doesn't have those beautiful blue eggs either. I love robins. They're very bold. |
