I asked whether someone specific was manipulating me by distorting the truth in order to get something from me.

I did a single card spread and received the VII of Pentacles (upright).

I could interpret this both ways so I am wondering what others see in this.

I might be wrong but I think it's a "Yes". In the RWS deck, the person is staring at the tree waiting for the right moment for the coins/fruit to ripen so he can collect his harvest.

I am getting that someone is indeed hopeful that you will do what they want. is this good or bad? Who knows? But you are only in control of what you feel you want to do.

6 of Pentacles gives reads to me as receiving and sharing the wealth. I do not know if this is positive or negative for you. Time will tell and it is important to follow your instincts. Look for signs from your spirit guides, higher self, etc. Take note of what your thinking of when you receive these signs. If you do feel as though someone is manipulating you in order to get something from you and you have to end your friendship/relationship, do not lose hope that you made the right decision.
