Candle flame interacting with bulb
 

Does a candle flame typically react to an energy saving life bulb? I've noticed that when I sit down to meditate with a candle, the light bulb in my bedroom gets considerably dimmer to the point it's nearly blue. At the same time, the candle becomes quite large and fat and often straightens up in direct correlation with the dimming bulb. This has happened too many times for me to think it could be a coincidence.

Is there a scientific explanation or is it spiritual? I know it's related to energy but not sure how a bulb could 'give' its energy to the flame. Any thoughts or explanations welcome.
