Hello!

My name is Aelita. I've been on a spiritual journey lately trying to discover what I believe and what sort of practices I want to be a part of. I grew up Christian until I became an adult and really started to think about what I actually believed rather than what I'd been taught. I came to the conclusion that, while I do believe there is a higher power who created this universe, I find it pointless to pretend I know exactly what that higher power is when I don't.

I identified as agnostic for a while, but I wanted something solid to be able to put my beliefs against, so I started looking into different religions, trying to find something that I felt resonated with me, and I was drawn to paganism, specifically pantheism and druidry. Even if I don't have an exact name for the deity I follow, it makes sense to me that part of them would be in their creations, and I can acknowledge them and honor them through the Earth.
I'm still journeying into my beliefs, but this is what I've settled on currently.

As I read your story, I thought of how similar it is. I grew up Christian too and as an adult I left the church as it no longer helped me. Ironically, it was the Christian God who dumped me out of Christianity some time after I stopped going to church. My path is now pagan, more specifically Druidry. This is still new to me so I'm sorting out a few things as I carefully walk my path.

Just take your time as you sort out what you want. The Deities will be there when you're ready and one, or more, may reach out to you. Some clues are subtle and others are obvious. It's not necessary to worship Them but giving Them respect and honour does go a long way.

You may also want to read Celtic mythology for a starting point if you do want the Druid path.
