Mystery booms
I thought i heard one a few weeks back, a thundering sound rocked the entire building. I was convinced because it was too loud to be an earthquake, and there were no clouds to make thunder...
But it was actually a huge patch of frozen snow sliding off the roof. Which makes me suspect many of these reports heard around the world could just be this. Because the entire US has had a very snowy season. And a patch of frozen snow sliding off a roof isnt an easy immediate conclusion to come to. |
weird question...were you awake when this happened or nodding off?
|
Why is that your first question? Thats like asking a UFO sighting "were you dreaming?"
|
haha, I didn't mean it like that. There was the possibility it might be exploding head syndrome which is why I asked. I have experienced it once in my life while living on a military base of all places. It really scared me.

Yes it's always good to investigate more down to earth possible solutions first before other things.
I thought I saw a UFO once, as a grey oval shape moved across the sky maybe about 2 miles away. I sat in the car and watched it travel... Then it moved in my direction and started to break up. A view through binoculars showed me it was a "murmuration" of Starlings! (Not by the way, saying UFO sightings are all like this!) |
No snow in Phoenix, but I don't know if any one around here is hearing booms either.
|
I heard a sonic air plane boom for the first time like 6 months ago. All people near by were afraid a bomb had gone off or a plane had just crashed it was so damn loud!
