Is "just family" really enough for anyone?
Hi everyone. I think that as children our needs could be met by family alone. It isn't until adulthood that we realize the needs our family didn't meet. At this point we realize we need more in our life than just family. At least that's my experience. At one time all my family met my needs; now only some I remained close with.
So do you think just family really is enough or do we need more than just that? |
I never thought my family met my 'needs'....they gave me good food, shelter and health care, tho.
More than they had during the Great Depression...in America. I escaped the week I turned 18 years old. |
Yep have to agree with Miss H.
I also left at 18. Not only the family but the country. Best thing I ever did! |
My family NEVER met my needs.
They let me down. I left home age 16. But I understand the post. Family ( under normal circumstances) can fill the needs of a growing child. But in adulthood we need a partner and kids and obviously close family cannot provide that! |
I would have to agree with the other Answers my friends were my support growing up not my Family

Same as you NativeS. I consider my mates as a “precious gift” because that is what they are.

Grew up with myself as my best friend. I loved to explore and the best person I had to do it with was myself.

Blood's important. Even if I don't see a family member for a while they are still family. It's not something I think about, you just help one another out.
