Nightshade

I recently discovered I got an tomato allergy after eating tomato soup and something else with tomatoes the day after. I got many irritations throughout my body and a crazy running nose. It took me a while to notice this consciously since I never make it myself and instinctively avoid tomato and don't like potatoes (nightshade too) either. Always had issues with many pizzas too so it's starting to make a lot of sense:icon_eek:

Anyone else allergic to this poisonous plant, choice of witches and sorcery? :D

Hello

Are you talking about deadly nightshade or nightshade vegetables? Belladonna or deadly nightshade, is a perennial herbaceous plant in the nightshade family Solanaceae, which includes tomatoes, potatoes, and aubergine. The plant is poisonous. You have more to worry about getting poisoned than being allergic.

I select foods according what my HS gives me, and not going into the process involved. From that I can say all night shades are on the lower end of the acceptable scale.

There's something fishy about this plant

Yes Lepus, I am talking about the veggies, although the plant itself may also be an issue. Would be interesting to go into nature and meditate next to this plant:D

This source considers it not a sattvic food.
Also, found elsewhere that people's liking for fries with ketchup could be a mild addiction to nicotine... :icon_eek:

Fascinating plant, but I'm going to avoid its 'fruits' for now.

Altair that may be a "food intolerance" rather than an allergy. Yes some people can't cope with food from the Nightshade family.

Oddly I have noticed that I can eat any amount of raw tomatoes with no bad effects but any cooked or preserved kind will always give me indigestion even though I like them. They seem super-acidic to me for some reason when cooked or processed.
But potatoes and I get on very well.

I am slightly sensitive to nightshades. Fortunately, I don't like many of them.

I've never heard of an allergy to tomatoes. This is something new for me.

It is interesting that you find cooked tomatoes super acidic.
Most night shades are in the neutral range in the alkaline/acid scale.
Potatoes are slightly acidic.
