His master's voice
 

The seeker asked the master, "I would see what you see and know what you know"

The master smiled and said that he will say the magic word to reveal the cosmic flow

The word, he said, I will soundlessly speak but you must listen to its echo within your heart

The seeker fell silent, concentrated, alert, so as not to miss the revelation from the start

Thoughts faded, concentration peaked, time stood still

The seeker was poised to hear his master's voice within, so that his void of ignorance would fill

The floodgates suddenly opened and he was swept away in euphoric joy

When at last he returned he knew it was his master's ploy

The journey inwards, each must take alone

You are there already but don't know it yet; don't be forlorn

There is so much insight in your poem, Unseeking Seeker. It makes me happy reading the heartfelt feeling here; I resonate.

importance of inner cleansing

Just as we would not like to enter a dirty room
Unless it is first swept clean with a broom
The subtle energy prefers not enter our body
Until cleansed of elements rough and rowdy!

The fears, the desires, the feral instinct
We would do well to make them extinct
The ego, the self, the reflex to cheat
Lay them all down at our masters feet!

That erratic thought or the selfish emotion
Calm them down from its state of commotion
Do ask, who, what, where, when and how
But remain present in the here and now!

In meditation, with the divine we seek to unify
Hoping that our inner resonance will amplify
It is akin to the inert velleity of a woodcutter lax
Before we begin, let us first sharpen our axe!

Thought control

The brain can hold only one thought at any given time
Thoughts vary in quality, from the mundane to the sublime
Thoughts define you, shape you, so choose them with care
As you think, so you are, your thoughts will take you there

Thoughts are joined to each other by a living thread
This thread will surely die, unless it is fed
Repeat the thoughts you wish to nourish; others go to the bin
It's not so difficult as it sounds; you just have to begin!

This man made thing, the false ego
Amusing but now it’s time to let go
It would have us live a life empty and hollow
Seek the deep, don’t wallow in the shallow

Travel light, travel incognito
The baggage of the ego, just forgo
Slow down thought and just breathe easy
Ignition lies within, in the divine flow breezy
