Love that song, I am quite well versed in the Nujabes, Substantial, All the crew from CYNE, Fat Jon (don't think he is in CYNE), Five Deez, and all those guys who co-op together. Great stuff. May I reply with Nujabes ft Five Deez - Latitude (Remix) sure you have heard it though. |

I found a mixtape online yesterday of Vitamin D's 'Table Manners' that i had about a decade ago and lost. I still can't believe it, here is the link it is available for free (legally) here ---->http://straightouttadotcom.wordpress.com/2012/03/08/vitamin-d-table-manners-2-1999-free-download/ I would link a preview on Youtube, but i can't find it anywhere.
That mixtape was an actual tape when cassette tape when i owned it, and it got a lot of play on the ol' sony walkman back in the day. Such a mellow mix with good scratching. True original and you don't find laid back stuff like this as much these days, not to knock some of the artists now, there will always be newer, more evolving artists doing there thing, but i digress. Here are a couple tracks by another local Seattle producer/dj, Jake One. 'Oh Really' w/Slug & Posdnuous fr. De la Soul. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNiI1bZBAfs 'Glow' w/ Elzhi & Royce Da 5'9 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gP23MteIbC4&feature=related |

Aha, found you. Time to resurrect this baby from the bowels of the music forums, and I'd like to dedicate this resurrection to my old SF buddy Sundialed who created this thread. Not that he's dead or something (I hope) but doesn't come around here anymore as far as I'm aware.
Had a couple tracks and initially posted them in the 'what are you listening to..' thread but thought they might be too abrasive or upsetting in some way for the spirit of that thread, plus i then thought it might be an idea to dig this thread up and post some hip hop on the off chance there might be some hip-hop fans out there. ANyhoo, here's the two I had in mind, the first one I've been looking for the title of for years after having it unlabeled for the longest time with only the vaguest recollection of where it came from or what it was called, hallelujah! I figured it out finally and can share it now. Phi Life Cypher w/ Vadim - Ghetto Rebels https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=da7JBMpPaWs Lupe Fiasco - Put Em Up https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dG0gW0NIhHw And a couple classics; De La Soul - Eye Know https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1CaN4thI5w Tonedeff - Monotony https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5iHO7dNC1Q |

i'm a huge fan of hip hop. particularly old school, when people put their heart and soul into it.
here are some of my favorites: Bone thugs n Harmony - Crossroads http://youtu.be/y-JmZ9ADhYg Naughty by Nature - Uptown Anthem http://youtu.be/4BUqEMNP9zc Souls of Mischief - 93 til infinity http://youtu.be/0VwfYCFYZws brings back childhood memories. |
ocean breeze - That Souls of Mischief is a classic of course. 'This is how we chill in ninety-three until...'
Want to post some from a french artist named Guts, put a few of his tracks in the electronica thread as well but he's probably more properly called hip hop than anything, and i have more from him I want to post so thought I'd double down on some Guts in this thread. These are all instrumental (besides singing & other samples) although he does plenty of tracks w/ rappers also.
