is there anything wrong with music

i noticed some people will not listen to any rock or heavy metal music, i think it depends who you speak to but ive heard of people saying chuck the cd's or dvd's out the window as they feel its low vibrational or too aggressive or angry sort of music. some people will also say the mainstream music is sort of like soft porn in a way and like mind control.
i think although heavy metal is loud its technically quite hard to play if you look at it from a music theory point of view yeah so you can give credit at there for the level of creativity and skill. it's the same thing for video gaming it's like like creativity and there's skill in it to finish the games.
how do you feel at here? i guess it just depends on your beliefs to how you would respond here.

I have found rock and heavy metal music to be very high energy. When I say "high" I don't mean "elevated in a spiritual way that is higher than something else" Just intense energy I suppose.
Sometimes it is helpful
Sometimes it is jarring. It does depend what you are looking for.

But I mean the primal energy of the music itself and the rhythms . Not necessarily the lyrics What the music does to a person can depend on those too.

oddly enough amon amarth the viking death metal band, i got few of those on my playlist and if i play it before a run i can picture myself getting up a hill or achieving a personal best time, i feel it's safe to say it's very good for workout purposes lol but i dont dress black or like the image or the aggression, im a nice guy really lol more a casual rocker if that count's.

I can't handle heavy metal (except some Metallica) and rap. I don't know why, but it doesn't resonate to me. I say take what resonates with you.

Canned music has its downside - it distances people from its source. But then, CDs, LPs, radio, have brought almost every variety of music to a public that may not have access to it otherwise.

There's nothing wrong with music. Some people like the visceral effect of a thudding bass, others the fluid sensuality of impressionist styles, some like the formality of (the true) classics (up to about Brahms) and some, the romantics you'll find in the classical section of a provider. Some like it all.

Music is good. Live music is excellent. It can reflect or inspire a mood, console, calm or invoke your wild. Try "The Rite of Spring."

There is a trick involved when it comes to agreeing with others just to shut their mouth-holes, then doing whatever makes you happy anyway - you just never do it in front of them out of respect, but lie if and when the subject ever comes up...I believe they call that one "diplomacy".

Those who didn't like Heavy Metal before their awakening are certainly not going to automatically develop a taste for it afterwards, so "being spiritual" has nothing to do with it...although I find that I have got to be in the mood to listen to Metal now and Rammstein and Korn (Industrial) just doesn't do it for me anymore but Slipknot and Disturbed (Metalcore) still does....maybe that was just a phase I went through.

However, I seem to have gone of ALL music really. World Music, Ambient and Classical isn't doing it for me either...I am even turning my nose up at Moody Blues, George Harrison and Tangerine Dream which is NOT like me!

I need to listen to something new...something I haven't heard a thousand times before because I bore really easy now...haven't found anything yet..but if it is anything Metal..

"you are right, I NEVER listen to that rubbish...people are stupid for doing so".

*walks away with Metal playing on my iPod through headphones*

Initially one feels a bit of hypocrisy, but the more one lies, the easier it becomes.

i can remember disturbed from a metal hammer dvd, it was 'inside the fire' i quite enjoyed that.
you know its said that all the ideas for the music composing comes to the mind like a thought form, some people believe spirit's help here, it's like with video games and movies i see starseeds love this and get very competitive playing games and posting the footage but it's the creativity yeah with these games and movies, like lord of the ring movies they are amazing to watch. starseeds seem to love star wars and star trek it's like when it was being made it's like all the ideas came as a thought form and it's for a reason but we just dont think of it that way.

Some Metal can indeed be very musical and lyrical and I much prefer that over those "Cookie Monster" growls and random guitar noodling over thudding baselines.

Actually, now you have mentioned it...I really liked "Inside the Fire" by Disturbed as well, but I enjoy "Stricken" even more...

See...I am now in the mood to listen to Metal. :)

Of course, we all can take solace from the fact that Christians also hate Heavy Metal...and YET there are Christian Heavy Metal bands to bring "Jesus' Message" to the youth through this medium! P.O.D. and Stryper are two fine examples.

Then you have "New Age Metal". The Dolphin's Cry by LIVE is a masterpiece:

So, it all depends ON the Metal and what you are looking for in the music and the lyrics...even Goth Metal has its place among some "spiritual people":

Immortal - The Cruxshadows:

However, I am just enjoying this little segway here...because if there's one thing I cannot stand with "spiritual people" in general, it is conditioned sanctimony, so I tend to act all rebellious against it.

it would be very Interesting to hear what spirit's have to say about this, i dont think ive seen a channelled message talk about this yet.
i think any sort of nature spirit's will just flee quickly if you blast out metal or rock music but i think they would appreciate easier listening music like folk or just instrumental solos with acoustic guitar or the flute or oboe etc.. out in the forest.

The idea of all metal being agressive as most ignorant people think is complete bullsh#t. Yes there are bands like that, but it mostly depends on the subgenre of metal. For example, power metal is usually anything but agressive but rather cheerful and uplifting with spiritual, fantasy, and life themed lyrics. I know plenty of metal bands that give good vibes, but I also know a lot of darker bands.
