Futhark Runes

I looked back a few pages and realized there isn't much posted on runes. I'm wondering why this is so which leads me to ask..is anyone interested in runes? I started working with runes and would like to meet others who are interested in them as well. I have crafted my runes and made a casting cloth. I'm quite satisfied with the symbolism of the entire set up.

I had started meditating with them one at a time and feel ready to begin to learn how to read them.

What I want to know is if you're interested in working with runes and what experiences you had with them.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and/or experiences with runes.

Hello
I get shown runes in my mind I do not understand some of them I see one that I have been shown quite a few times represents home land others I'm still Trying to work out.

I like runes I would like them even better if someone was willing to teach me .
Runes seem to be strong with me I am curious about runes

Maybe it's an acquired taste.

If there is enough interest for runes, I'm thinking of starting a workshop. It's more for being introduced to runes so you don't need a set for beginning to get familiar with them.

Please let me know if you're interested. If there is no interest then I won't begin a workshop. Keep in mind I use the Futhark runes.

I have been seeing rune shapes randomly on wikipedia and youtube and what not, I like the sigil for Harald Bluetooth, the ancient viking king. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harald_Bluetooth

I sadly don't know much about runes though.

Historically, runes are well known for writing, making sigils but not for magic or divination. The emphasis on the workshop is for divination which I believe is similar to tarot.

Hi Chry

You crafted your own, Runes? Do you have pictures of them? Just curious, you don't have to share if it's not possible. I am not familiar with them, I wouldn't even know where to start. Someone did a reading for me with them, not bad..

If I can get on the mobile version of SF then I think I can post pics.

Now you have an idea as to where I want to take this workshop. Please let me know if you're interested to begin working with runes. I made the casting cloth and rune stones. Most of my ideas are from a book, 'Rune Power' by Kenneth Meadows. I want to share a step by step method to increase awareness of divining with runes. From what I've seen on the Web and books, I haven't found anything similar to what I've learned.

Chrysalis, I would be interested in your workshop. I'm just beginning with Runes as I bought a set of lovely Rose Quartz ones and a deck of Rune Cards.

Can you explain more on your casting cloth as I would be interested in making one of my own. The picture you have up does not show what the lines leading out mean.

Thank you for starting this up for us beginners, there is not a lot of help on the web for it and not many courses offered locally.

Please pm me when it goes up, thank you.

If you're interested in making a casting cloth this is what I did.

It is square 24" by 24" and brown. I used felt because there are no threads that'll unravel and I'm not a sewer. The cloth can be any cloth but not leather as it's symbolism is different and has a different energy to it. I believe symbols have their own unique energy. There is quite a bit of different energies involved which I'll get into later. The cloth must be brown as other colours have different meanings. Brown is typically a grounding colour and we want the reading of the rune stones to be grounded in our reality.

But for now. The square and the colour brown symbolize earth. The smallest circle is past/ring of potential. The middle circle is present/ring of causation and the largest circle is future/ring of manifestation.

The empty space on the very bottom of the image is south, closest to the reader, and is the place of giving. Moving clockwise, the left space is the place of holding/west, the top space is the place of receiving/north and the space on the right is the place of decisions/east.

I'm beginning the workshop by taking the runes one at a time to get familiar with them. You don't need a rune set for this, just paper and a pen to start with.

You can make a casting cloth anytime.

If anyone is good with numerology, I'd like to know the meaning of 24 as the cloth is 24 by 24.

Have fun making the cloth.
